Fuel additive (ethyl liquid)
- Product Description
-
Ethyl liquid products are anti-knock additives for gasoline and aviation fuels. They enable fuel energy to be efficiently converted into useful work, promote engine acceleration, enhance fuel performance, and significantly improve the engine's resistance to knocking—features that no other metallic or non-metallic anti-knock agents can match.
Currently, there are two main approaches to raising the octane rating of fuels: one is to use advanced processing technologies and equipment to achieve this goal, and the other is to add antiknock additives or high-octane components to the fuel. Although process-based methods remain the primary means of boosting fuel octane ratings, they suffer from drawbacks such as high capital investment and significant changes to the fuel’s distillation range, making it often difficult to achieve an optimal production mix and lacking adequate flexibility. Extensive domestic and international practice has demonstrated that the use of antiknock additives represents a more cost-effective and efficient approach to increasing the octane rating of automotive fuels.
In some regions and countries—such as major global oil powers—refineries still demand ethyl liquid as an anti-knock agent for fuel. Currently, countries in regions including Iran, Iraq, Russia, and parts of Southeast Asia continue to use it extensively.
Fuel additives (ethyl liquid) products are available in two types: TEL-CB for automotive use and TEL-B for aviation use. Their main quality indicators are:Chemical composition TEL-CB for automotive use TEL-B for aviation Tetraethyl lead W% 58.08–61.48 58.08–61.48 Dibromoethane W% 17.86 ± 1.5 35 ± 0.5 Dichloroethane W% 18.81 ± 1.5 Antioxidant W% 0.1 0.1 Dye W% 0.02–0.05 0.02–0.05 Gasoline W% Add to 100 Add to 100 Appearance Clear, orange, oily liquid with no turbidity and no sediment. It is reported that the world’s major producers of alkyl lead antiknock agents are the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Italy. Among these countries, three companies—including DuPont in the United States—account for 85% of the global production capacity of alkyl lead.
The primary active ingredient in the ethyl liquid is tetraethyl lead (alkyl lead). After years of research and development, our company has improved and upgraded the lead-sodium alloy process route and further optimized the production equipment, thereby fundamentally stabilizing the product’s performance specifications.
